Put your jorts away and go see your dentist: Big 12 minus 2 stays intact

E-mailed 8/14/11

In what can only be described as a fascinating turn of events, the SEC declined to extend an invitation to A&M today <http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/6861385/sec-extend-invitation-texas-leaves-options-open>.  They sure made it clear they were leaving the door open for a future invite, though.  This issue ain't dead, just dead for now.  It will come up again in January after the BCS championship. Word is the SEC backed out because they didn't have all the details finalized as to if they should be a 14 or 16 team conference and if so who teams 14 through 16 would be. Its hard to know what A&M is feeling, having been wooed publicly by a better conference only to that conference back away and not take them at the last minute.  Wait, that's not hard to know at all...

Until January,

Doug
